After opening ECAC Hockey play with a home-and-home series sweep against RPI, Union climbed two spots to No. 7 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and up to No. 8 in the USCHO.com Poll. Union received a first place vote in each poll for the fourth consecutive week.

As the RPI football team sat idle this past weekend, the College Football season got underway across the country, including a pair of games here in the Capital Region. The final results from both games were on different ends of the spectrum, as Union suffered a tough 17-14 loss to Salve Regina, while UAlbany opened their final season at University Field with a 41-20 victory over Colgate.

Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton today announced the appointment of Bob Bodor as acting head football coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Bodor has been RPI’s defensive coordinator and is a 24-year veteran football coach, including six as head coach at Colorado College.
