Some New York Jets fans get chills down their spines when you bring up the 2020 season. The team started out a brutal 0-13. Head coach Adam Gase infuriated the Gang Green fanbase and was mocked on a daily basis by the New York sports media. Let's face it, the Jets hadn't won a Super Bowl in 50 years and 2020 seemed like rock bottom. Well, at least they would get the top pick in the NFL draft, right? Not so fast, in true New York Jets fashion, they pretty much screwed that up on December 27th of 2020, against the Cleveland Browns, a haunting game for a few reasons.

A victory on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, will put the New York Jets on top of the AFC East with seven wins. With triumphs over the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, Robert Saleh and his "all gas, no brake" crew own the needed tie-breakers that have Jets fans salivating for a potential playoff birth. 2010 was the last time Gang Green visited the NFL tournament in January. Now, one man in particular is out to ruin those dreams, as he has many times before. Bill Belichick.

Every New York Giants' fan knows that Dave Gettleman's tenure with the team was rough, and this story from the 2018 NFL Draft just adds on to that reputation.

When I first posed the question "Did the New York Jets Get It Wrong Again?" to a long time Jets fan, he immediately responded, "Which "it"?" At first, I was a bit surprised that he didn't know I was referring to the team's number one draft pick in April, Zach Wilson. Then I realized, he knew. He was just making the point that Gang Green fans may be reliving 2018 all over again.

We're two weeks into the NFL season, and what could've been considered coincidences in Week 1, can now be considered trends after Week 2.

To me, the comparison to Sam Darnold is important. I have said it time and again, Sam Darnold was at a disadvantage with Adam Gase as his head coach. I am not trying to be funny. Sometimes there are bad head coaches. Gase was one of them. At the same time, Darnold made enough head scratching plays to make you wonder if the Jets missed on him. Given the track record of former Jets General Manager Mike Maccagnan, it wouldn't shock anyone if he selected a bust to be his franchise quarterback.

The New York Jets seem to have found the right path as an organization finally. General Manager Joe Douglas hired new head coach Robert Saleh and appears to have orchestrated a solid 2021 NFL Draft. However the Jets' week one opponent will be a stark reminder of at least three missed opportunities.

The New York Jets are beginning the Robert Saleh era. The new head coach was highly sought after and chose the Jets. It still feels like this might really be the beginning of the Joe Douglas era too. Even though Douglas has been the Jets general manager since right after the NFL Draft in 2019 this feels like the first year he's really able to make the moves he wants to. What move will Douglas and Saleh make at quarterback? Will the move be no move at all and to give Sam Darnold one more chance to prove he's the right man for the Jets? Voice of the Jets Bob Wischusen thinks Darnold could get that chance.

Just days after the Super Bowl and many high profile quarterbacks are possibly on the move. It might actually be easier to list the NFL teams that are for sure not looking to move their quarterback or upgrade. With all these Pro-Bowl QBs like Deshaun Watson, Carson Wentz and even Russell Wilson unhappy with their current teams it feels like anything could happen this off season. Does Fansided's Matt Verderame think that the New York Jets will keep Sam Darnold, draft a new QB or trade for their new signal caller?

The Jets will be without their starting quarterback this weekend

My support of New York Jets' Head Coach Adam Gase seems to be at best misguided at this point. I was really hoping he'd be one of those guys that just because he didn't get great results elsewhere it would click for him here. The Jets are 0-3 with the lackluster Denver Broncos coming to town next week. If "Gang Green" loses to the Broncos the next "winnable" game on the schedule would maybe be in 2021? I hate calling for anyone to lose their jobs but Gase and the Jets clearly aren't working and it has to be time to start looking at other options. Here are a few candidates that If I were Jets GM Joe Douglas I'd have on my shortlist.

For years I've asked the question "Is this the year time catches up with Tom Brady?" So don't let my next question shock you too much. Was the reason guys like Tom Brady had a subpar week one is that there were no preseason games? You can set up as many practices and scrimmages as you want but nothing prepares you for game speed like GAME SPEED.
