It was a roller-coaster week at Saratoga, but one highlighted by a few unbelievable shows of class.
Time flies when you're having fun, they say.

Verrazano has been labeled the most talented horse of the three-year old variety right now. The animal's trainer is Todd Pletcher. Verrazano is jockeyed by Hall of Famer John Velazquez. This all sets-up for one thing.
We have officially entered the second weekend of the Saratoga meet, as we celebrate 150 years of horse racing in the "Spa City." This weekend features some terrific stakes races, including the usual tune-up for the Travers, which is today's Jim Dandy.
"It is now post time...and party time."
Hokey words, but ones that an entire generation of Capital Region kids will forever identify with Saratoga Race Course, and ones that so sublimely and succinctly summarize the summer place to be.

On a much cooler day with even some light sweeping rain through the region and another big crowd, there were 10 races in all on the closing weekend Sunday at Saratoga Race Course. None disappointed. There was even a 69:1 that shocked the masses at the historic course.
The 150th year of horse racing in Saratoga kicked off Friday and didn't disappoint. Thousands flocked the historic race course despite temperatures in the mid-90's by afternoon time. In fact, over 21,000 made their way to Saratoga.
