It was announced on Tuesday that New York Mets Pitcher Mike Pelfrey was placed on the disabled list with Elbow Inflamation. It turns out it was much worse as an MRI revealed a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in Pelfrey's right elbow. He will need Tommy John Surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2012 season.

One of new Red Sox GM Ben Cherington's first order of business was to announce that John Lackey would be out for the entire 2012 season as he is due to have Tommy John Surgery.

Adam Wainwright will require season-ending Tommy John surgery.  I wonder if this is a photo of the actual pitch when Adam Wainwright jacked up his arm.  There is one thing I'm not wondering about though.
