Tri-City ValleyCats Set Franchise Attendance Record

The regular-season home slate ended on a bittersweet note for the Tri-City ValleyCats on Monday night.

The short-season Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros lost a pair of one-run games to the Lowell Spinners, 5-4 in ten innings and 3-2 in seven, but the ValleyCats set a new franchise attendance record for the eighth consecutive season.

ValleyCats Game Postponed, Day-Night Doubleheader Scheduled For Monday

The Tri-City ValleyCats scheduled game on Sunday against the Lowell Spinners has been postponed due to Hurricane Irene.  It will now be played on Monday afternoon.

Siena’s John Lannan Roughed Up As Phillies Shutout Nationals

Siena graduate John Lannan just can't seem to beat Philadelphia. 

The Washington Nationals starting pitcher is 1-12 against the Phillies as Wilson Valdez and Jimmy Rollins each drove in two runs and Hunter Pence homered to lead Philadelphia to a 5-0 victory over Washington on Saturday night.

Three Tri-City ValleyCats Named To NY/Penn League All-Star Game

The Tri-City ValleyCats might be struggling in the standings but they will be well represented in the 2011 New York-Penn League All-Star Game.

Third baseman Matt Duffy, center fielder Justin Gominsky and pitcher Kyle Hallock will represent the team in the NYPL All-Star Game - which takes place on August 16th at LeLacheur Park in Lowell.

Former ValleyCat Hunter Pence traded from Houston to Philadelphia

Former Tri-City ValleyCat Hunter Pence went from the worst team in Major League Baseball to a team that's in 1st place in the NL East.

On Friday night, the Houston Astros traded Pence to the Philadelphia Phillies for a package of highly rated prospects.

ValleyCats Game Makes for Great Family Outing – My Son’s First Game

There is no better feeling than taking your son to a baseball game.  I got that experience on Sunday night as the ValleyCats played host to the Aberdeen IronBirds at Joe Bruno Stadium.

It was my 3-year old son Zachary's first-ever professional baseball game.  And it was a moment neither of us will ever forget.

Former ValleyCat Hunter Pence Named To NL All-Star Team

Former Tri-City ValleyCat Hunter Pence was selected as a reserve for the National League All-Star team on Sunday.  He'll be the lone representative for the Houston Astros.

This is the second All-Star Game selection for Pence since breaking into the big leagues in 2007.
