The Union College men's ice hockey team remained at No. 3 in both the final USCHO.com and the USA Today and USA Hockey Magazine polls, the highest final ranking in the program's 21-year history at the Division I level. Sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick became the third Union men's ice hockey student-athlete to earn First Team All-American honors in the Division I era. Grosenick was named a 2012 First Team CCM All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Friday. Grosenick joins goaltenders Keith Kinkaid (2011), who earned first team honors last year and Trevor Koenig (1997).

Junior forward Jeremy Welsh, freshman forward Max Novak and sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick all earned ECAC Hockey monthly honors, the league announced on Friday. Welsh was named ECAC Hockey Player of the Month, Novak earned Rookie of the Month honors, and Grosenick was named Goaltender of the Month for the second time this season.
