Here in America, women's sports are a given. Often in this country and, even on this web site, we take for granted the competition going on and either dismiss it or shift our focus to the aesthetics of the female athletes competing. Even in this year's Olympics, I suspect many eyes will be on US Soccer's Hope Solo and Alex Morgan instead of our flag bearer, the top ranked fencer in the world, Mari

The Union College Athletic Department might be best known for their men's hockey and football programs but they also have 25 other sports offered by the college.  Make that 26.

Ashleigh Barone broke nearly every Siena women's soccer program record in one play. The senior striker set the career record for goals, points and game-winning goals as her tally stood up in the Saints’ 1-0 victory over Quinnipiac in the team’s home opener Sunday at Siena Field.

Last night, the UConn women’s basketball team won their 88th consecutive game in a row, tying the record held by John Wooden’s UCLA teams from 1971-74.  That being said, it was UConn’s coach, Geno Auriemma who stole the headlines at the post-game press conference.
