Abby Wambach’s goal is probably the soul reason I’m watching the Women’s World Cup. The feed from out side right to a well placed header, everything about it was awesome. One Thing I will say is that now I’ve started watching this I can’t turn it off its compelling interesting TV, and I’m in love with Hope Solo

Two players on the North Korean women’s soccer team have tested positive for banned substances. Song Jong Sun and Jong Pok Sim were suspended before yesterday’s game and now the whole team is up for a drug test. This is troubling news to the FIFA governing body, and has shaken my faith in the honesty of the North Korean Government.
As many of you know, I'm a huge soccer fan. And for the past few years, I've been searching the internet to find a DVD copy of the 1994 USA vs. Columbia World Cup match - which resulted in a 2-1 win for the Americans - their first win in a World Cup in 44 years.
This is also the same game where Columbia's Andres Escobar scored an own goal - which ultimately would lead to his death a month later. This story was featured on ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary, "The Two Escobars".
March 21, 2011 Certain sporting events are must see television. They’re looked forward to, prognosticated about, ritualized and analyzed. What are these events? To some it may be opening day of the baseball season. Not for me, I’m not that interested in Blue Jays-Indians in what basically represents watching the first 10 steps of a marathon.
