With the Tri-City ValleyCats season set to kick off today against the Connecticut Tigers (7 p.m., Joe Bruno Stadium), we got our first look at the 2016 'Cats on Thursday at ValleyCats Media Day.

By far, the most popular 'Cat was Daz Cameron, the 2015 First-Round pick of the Astros. He's also the son of former Major League star Mike Cameron.

We spoke to Cameron on Thursday about his early impressions of Tri-City, what he's worked on heading into this season (He started the year at Full-season A ball in Quad Cities, but was sent to extended spring training after a month), what it will take the 'Cats to get back to a championship level and what fans will get used to seeing from him this season.

Furthermore, we asked him which team he rooted for growing up and if he was the kid who always followed his dad around the clubhouse. Cameron spent time with eight different Major League teams.
