Earlier this evening Levack and Goz were live from The Palace Theatre in Albany for the reveal of the nickname for the Albany Arena Football team. All show long the guys were joined by Albany coaches, owners and more leading up to the announcement. At 6pm live on 1045 The Team the team nickname was revealed to be the…. Albany Empire. The Albany Empire beat the other four finalists which were the Albany Phoenix, Albany Fire and Albany Machine. The Albany Empire will hold an open tryouts for players on January 27^th at the Sportsflex in Halfmoon. All home games for the 2018 season will be played at the Times Union Center this spring and summer. What do you make of the Albany Empire as the nickname for the new franchise?
