It's been a long time between shoot out wins for the Albany Devils. Eight straight shoot out losses came to and end in Connecticut Tuesday night as Albany defeats the Whale 4-3  by winning the shoot out session 2-0 and get the big two points in the North East Conference.

Tallies by Chad Wiseman and Matt Anderson in the shoot out session gave the Devils the win. On the other end goaltender Keith Kinkaid, after taking a night off, stopped all three Whale shootout tries to seal the win, his 15th of the year. Kinkaid stopped 20 of 23 shots in regulation and the five minute overtime.

The Devils struck quickly in this game. A goal 27 seconds into the game by Anderson got the ball rolling. Phil DeSimone followed that goal with a score of his own at 5:17 of the first and the Devils led 2-0 after the first period.

They increased that lead to 3-0 on Corbin McPhearson's first career goal coming in his 49th career game.

The Whale came back strong however scoring three goals in 7:21 to tie the score at three and force over time.

Albany will continue their six game road trip when they travel to Springfield for a contest against the Falcons Friday night. The game can be heard on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio starting at 7:00 P.M.
