The Rangers can thank the man they call Henry or the King for their 3-0 game 3 victory Saturday afternoon giving the Rangers a 2-1 lead in the best of 7 Eastern Conference Finals at the "rock" in New Jersey.

Henrik Lundqvist, the favorite for the top goaltender in the league (vezina) and for MVP (hart trophy) stopped 36 shots in recording his 2nd shutout of this series and 3rd of these playoffs. Lundqvist was brilliant early and had to be as the Rangers started sluggish. The Devils had at least 3 breakaways of some sort in the game. The best of this group was stopping Ilya Kovalchuk. His best save came right after, a backhanded glove stop on Dainius Zubrus. The Kings counterpart Martin Brodeur also made a spectacular back handed glove save to stop Ryan Callahan minutes later. Both Net minders took turns makign quality saves in the 2nd stanza.

The game stayed tied until the 3rd when the Rangers broke through with 3 goals. Dan Girardi's power play blast at 3.17 started the fun. Chris Kreider continued to score a goal a game in this series beating the Jersey Goalie at 5.16 and Callahan finished it with an empty netter. By that time the Ranger fans can be hear out yelling the Devil fans. The Devils tried  to keep the Ranger fans out of the building but to no avail.

After the game Devils coach Pete Deboer was whining about an elbow that Ryan Prust landed on the noggin of Devil defensman Alexander Volchenkov. Prust wasn't penalized on the play. Deboer claimed Prust was head hunting on the play. Prust laughed off the comments. The NHL will no doubt review the play. Volchenkov resumed play a little later.

For Lundqvist and the Rangers it was their 2nd 3-0 whitewashing of this series. Game 1 finished the same score.

Game 3 of the Holland Tunnell Hatred takes place back in Jersey Monday night
