Coughlin, who has a 142-114 career record with the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants, has the third most wins (74) in Giants history and is tied with Bill Parcells for the most post season victories.

In a statement released today, General Manager Jerry Reese emphasized the organization’s high regard for Coughlin: "Tom is a winner and he's a fighter, and I enjoy and appreciate working with him. From where I sit, I couldn't ask for more in a head coach.”

The Coach, who is 65, has expressed interest in coaching until he is 70 if possible.
