A lot of people will look at the Jets' loss yesterday to Miami as an ultimate low for Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes. But look a little closer at one particular play, and you'll see just how desperate this team has become.

During the 4th quarter at the New Meadowlands yesterday, Miami punter Brandon Fields sent another beautiful punt deep into Jets territory, a theme that Fields repeated all 10 times he punted yesterday. But the story wasn't about the punt itself, but rather what happened while the ball was in the air.

Miam cornerback Nolan Carroll was running down the sideline on punt coverage, when he stepped out of bounds and seemed to "accidentally" trip over himself on the sideline. But upon furthur review, Carroll was kneed in his right groin by a member of the Jets, causing Carroll to come up lame and fall to the ground along New York's sideline.

The criminal was Sal Alosi, the Jets' strength and conditioning coach, who later admitted after the game that he intentionally interfered with Carroll. Alosi has apologized to several members of the Jets organization, as well as Miami head coach Tony Sparano and Nolan Carroll.

So basically, this tool took it upon himself to decide that the only way the Jets were going to win yesterday was by tripping a no-name cornerback while he was covering a punt? I mean, just look at the guy: this former linebacker from Hofstra just screams "tool," doesn't he?

I think we need to have an MMA card for the end of this NFL season, and one of the premiere match-ups should be Nolan Carroll against Sal Alosi. Hey, a man can dream, can't he?
