If you are P.J. Carlesimo you can't feel all bad if his former team lands Phil Jackson can you? I mean replaced by the all time winningest coach in basketball history if Jackson takes the Nets millions.

1 day after showing P.J. the door the Brooklyn Nets have started the process of finding the biggest name they can to replace Carlesimo. Phil Jackson, with NY roots from his days with the Knicks is a logical place to start.

What would it take to get Jackson? Does he even want to coach anymore? Or is he telling thr truth when he claims his coaching days are over? Jackson did recently land a new gig, as a consultant to the Detroit Pistons in their search for a new head coach to replace Lawrence Franks.

With Jackson is it hard to really know for sure. Everyone claims they have sources who claim this, that, or the other thing. The latest coming from camp Jackson is he wants to run a franchise ala Pat Riley or Flip Saunders, who just landed a gig running the Minnesota Timberwolves.

1 thing you can make bank on. Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov will spend whatever he can to get the "name" coach he wants.

Other names being tossed about by various media outlets. Larry Brown. What is a coaching search without the Brown man being part of it. He has already had 1 crack at coaching the Nets back in the day.

How about this name- Doc Rivers. He is under contract with the Boston Celtics but if they are going to rebuild does Doc want to be a part of that?

The Van Gundy brothers. Both Jeff and Stan. Jeff of course is an ABC-ESPN commentator with ties to the area via his years with the Knicks.

Mike Dunleavy. Well why not. His resume isn't finished yet although it only seems like he has coached every team in the NBA.

Brian Shaw. The current Pacers assistant who is rumored for every job but somehow always winds up the bridesmaid in coaching searches.

Who knows when this thing comes to an end what other names will be tossed in. I mean their are plenty of retreads who would like to get some of Prokhorov's millions ans coach a team with lots of talent.

Phil Jackson is 1st up on the list. if he wants the gig he will be 1st and last
