Gotta love the Raid-ahhhs.  The Oakland Raiders were noticeably better with Tom Cable as their head coach.  They were improving.  It doesn't make sense to fire him.  The Raiders don't exactly specialize in making sense though.

The Raiders were an 8-8 football team this season.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but the last time Oakland won more than five games was way back in 2002 when the Raiders were 11-5.

The Raiders won no more than five games for the last seven seasons until 2010.  Plus, Oakland swept its division.  The Silver & Black were 6-0 in the AFC West this season.

The Raiders have been an unstable franchise for years.  They've had six head coaches in the past 10 years.  They desperately need continuity.  Firing Tom Cable was the wrong move.  Al Davis relinquishing control would be the right one.
