In what has been a storybook season (for the most part) for the ValleyCats, Saturday night didn't fit the script as the Cats were not only beaten, a rare event, but they were in fact no hit in losing to Vermont.

Three pitchers for the Lake Monsters combined on the no-no. J.C. Menna started, Deyvi Jiminez and Ryan Dull finished up the no hitter and  leading Vermont to a 2-0 victory.

Menna tossed the 1st six innings of the no hitter. Jiminez tossed two nearly perfect innings of relief and then closer Dull finished off the white wash.

The final out came with a little suspense. Austin Elkin struck out but the ball eluded  catcher Bruce Maxwell who retrieved the ball and tossed to 1st to complete the no hitter.

For the Tri-City club this has been a record breaking season in which they accomplished a new season record for wins, Saturday night's no hitter not withstanding!
