The Rangers may not win this rugged series against the Ottawa Senators but it won't have the same blueprint as many Ranger teams of the past. It won't be because they are soft!

The Rangers battled the Sens hammer and nail Monday in Ottawa and pulled out the season saving victory 3-2 and they did it the Ranger way- Hit, skate, score, hit some more, and get some Sparkling saves From Henrik Lundqvist. The win forces a game 7 back in MSG Thursday.

Having rooted for the Rangers for a long time this team isn't like many others. They would fall behind and well go get some dinner cause it was game over. This Ranger team eats pucks like we consume burgers. Thwey play with no fear and they will their style on others. Whilke I wish they were allowed to open up the offense more, and to be honest I think it will be their undoing if they don't win the Cup, at least for Ranger fans you don't have to be ashamed of the effort!

Ottawa tough guy Chris Neil wanted to fight so fight they did. I would say the throw down with Brandon Prust was a draw. later Neil got dinged up pretty good. Oh well.

The Rangers fell behind rather early but didn't panic. As I humbly predicted, free agent Brad Richards was the BMOC in this win. A goal and a helper led the scoring. His 2nd period tally put the Rangers ahead 2-1 and would have been the game winner if the refs hadn't awarded a kicked in puck by Neil to slice a 3-1 lead to 3-2 with 32 seconds left. Ranger Rookie  Chris Kreider, in his 3rd NHl game scored the 3rd ranger goal that proved to be the game winner, also in the 2nd period.

Unlike many times before the Rangers didn't sit back. They pressed Ottawa hard all the way to the end. I LOVE that!

Henrick Lundqvist rang up 25 saves to get the win and wipe away the bad taste from a 2-0 loss in game 5 Saturday night.

Game 7 for all the glory takes place Thursday night. Won't predict a Ranger win but will say if this Ranger team doesn't win it won't be because  they shrank from the moment as many Ranger teams have done before. This hard nosed club will do what they do and it will be a great game. Go Rangers!
