My first reaction? It's about time.

While Kevin Huerter has stolen all the local basketball headlines since the end of March, it's nice to see his brother Thomas getting in on the action.

This is the first D-1 offer for Thomas (a senior). Speculation has been that he will head to Prep School for a year, but I wonder how this could change that plan? Will other schools follow suit?

Thomas was an integral part of the Shenendehowa's NYS Class AA State Championship team. He recorded double-figures in 20 games for the Plainsmen this season, including seven games of 20 or more.

He's lengthy and able to defend on the perimeter, and he's able to attack the basket using an aggressive style of play. He also shoots it pretty well from the outside.

Kevin Huerter has offers from more than 20 Division 1 schools. Some of those schools include Syracuse, Maryland, Baylor, Iowa, Siena, Albany, Notre Dame, Xavier, Creighton, and Davidson.

Tom Huerter Sr. played at Siena in the 80s.
