Stop me if you've heard this before: A Huerter is going to play college basketball at Siena.

It's not Kevin Huerter. The top player in the area and returning Shen senior has already committed to Maryland.

It's Thomas Huerter, the 2014 Shen grad who is currently playing at Prep School.

Huerter's father, Tom Sr., played at Siena as well and serves as the Saints radio broadcaster. He played on the 1988-1989 Saints team that upset Stanford in the '89 NCAA tournament.

Thomas Jr. was an integral part of the Shen state championship team this past season. He's long and athletic, standing about 6'5 with a good leaping ability. He sees the floor well, has a great basketball IQ, can shoot from the outside, and should be even better after a season at Prep School.

"He is excited at the opportunity and the coaches players really did a good job of making him feel at home and wanted," I was told on Saturday afternoon.
