Former UAlbany lacrosse stars Lyle and Miles Thompson helped lead the Iroquois Nationals to the silver medal at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships on Sunday in Syracuse.

Playing at the Carrier Dome in front of 10,421 people, the former Great Danes and their teammates fell to Canada by a score of 12-8.

It is the fourth consecutive WILC in which the Iroquois have nabbed the silver medal. Lyle Thompson was named to the All-World Team after scoring 30 points in the tournament. He had 16 goals and 14 assists. Brother Miles had 29 points the tournament. He had 13 goals and 16 assists for the Nationals.

The Thompson's led UAlbany to national relevance on the lacrosse circuit. Playing together in the 2014 season, the Danes advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. After Miles' graduation in 2014, Lyle led the Danes back to the quarterfinals in 2015.

They were co-Tewaaraton Award Winners in the 2014 season. The Tewaaraton Award is the lacrosse equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.
