Great offense and great pitching from Doug Fister helped the Detroit Tigers defeat the Texas Rangers 5-2 on Tuesday night in Game 3 of the ALCS.

The Rangers looked like they were gonna start a surge early with 3 straight singles in the 1st inning. One of those singles from Josh Hamilton gave the Rangers their first run. Fister settled down after that as that as he only allowed one more run but not till the top of the 8th. Fister’s final totals were  7 1/3 innings, 2 runs on 7 hits, No walks and 3 strikeouts.

It was all Detroit in this game. The Tigers would get on the board in the bottom of the 4th with a Victor Martinez  Home Run to tie the game. Miguel Cabrera would score Austin Jackson with a RBI double in the Bottom of the 5th to take the lead. Jhonny Peralta and Austin Jackson would add on to that lead in the bottom of the 6th win a Home Run and an RBI single. Miguel Carbrera would add another run in the 7th with a towering Home Run. Austin Jackson got out of his postseason slump going 3-5 after striking out 6 times in games 1 and 2.

Detroit will look to even up the series Wednesday in Game 4 with the first pitch scheduled for 4:19 p.m. Matt Harrison will take the mound for the Rangers taking on the Tigers Rick Porcello. All the action can be heard on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.
