The New York Yankees could not solve Max Scherzer and could not stop Miguel Cabrera as the Detroit Tigers won game 2 of the ALDS 5-3 and tie the series up at 1-1.

What are the keys for the Yankees moving forward in this series?

Freddy Garcia had an ok outing for the Yankees in game 2. He went 5 1/3 innings giving up 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), no walks and striking out 6. Garcia did what he's been doing all season and that's keeping his team in the game. The Yankees simply had no answer for Max Scherzer, who went 6 inning giving up just 2 hits, no runs, walking 4 and striking out 5.

Well with the series tied at 1. It now becomes a best of three game series. The Yankees will have CC in game three and then AJ Burnett in game four. Game five will likely be Ivan Nova. The Yankees just need to be kept in the game by their starters and have to work the Tigers' starting pitching better.

The Tigers' bullpen in game two was not good at all. Benoit and Valverde combined for 3 innings giving up 3 hits, 3 runs, two walks. The Yankees have the better bullpen and should be able to benefit from this down the stretch in this series.
