The Detroit Tigers suffered a pretty big blow despite having game 2 of the ALCS postponed yesterday.  They will be losing outfielder Magglio Ordonez for the rest of their 2011 playoff run.

Magglio Ordonez is done for this season.  He has re-fractured his right ankle and will require surgery in order to  repair it.   The same injury resulted in him missing over a month with the Tigers this summer.   It was the second blow to Detroit as they also lost outfielder Delmon Young to an oblique injury.

The Tigers staff wouldn't give up much information on the injury until late last ngith when they made Ordonez's x-rays available.  Manager Jim Leyland said earlier that the injury was "not conducive to playing the rest of the year."

The Tigers play game 2 against the Texas Rangers this afternoon at 4pm.
