Tim Tebow Traded To New York Jets [UPDATE]

With Peyton Manning becoming the new Quarterback of the Denver Broncos, the question then became where will Tim Tebow end up? That question was answered today as he has become a member of the New York Jets.

The Jets have given the Broncos a fourth and sixth round draft pick in exchange for Tebow and a seventh round pick. The Jacksonville Jaguars appeared to be the most logical choice for Tebow because he is from that area but the decision was the Broncos and the Jets made the best offer.

Tebow will be back to a backup role most likely seeing that Mark Sanchez just signed a 3 year $40.5 Million contract extension. The Jets also recently signed Drew Stanton to be their number 2 guy. Tebow may be used in some other fashion other than a quarterback role. Seeing that Tony Sparano is now the Jets Offensive Cooridinator and the Wildcat Offense is something that He and Tebow are known for, he may be used in those situations. Only time will tell how all this pans out.

UPDATE -- MARCH 21 AT 3:24pm: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter's  Twitter: Denver and Jets have encountered hangup in language in Tim Tebow's contract that could nullify trade. If the Tebow trade to Jets falls apart, St. Louis could wind up getting back into play. Sides sorting through details.

UPDATE -- MARCH 21 AT 8:52: The Trade is now Official!!  ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms on Twitter: Denver has agreed to trade Tim Tebow and a seventh-round pick to the Jets for the NY's fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick. The Jets have agreed to pay half of the $5 million in compensation back to Denver that was in dispute in Tim Tebow trade
