Mahoney, a graduate of Catholic High, was called up as a reserve for Baltimore’s series against the Los Angeles Angels. The first baseman had been playing for the Norfolk Tide, where he was hitting .256 with 5 homers and 38 RBI in 85 games. Unfortunately he and his family will have to wait at least another night for Mahoney to register his first major league hit, as he did not make a plate appearance in the game.
