Two Olympians From the Albany Area to Keep An Eye On

When you’re sitting on your couch over the next few weeks watching Olympic coverage, makes sure to keep your eyes on Nick Delpopolo and Kyle Vashkulat, two local products who will be representing America in the competition of judo.

Facbook

The two Burnt Hills High School graduates will be fighting for something that no American has ever won before: an Olympic Gold Medal in judoka. The two are making sure to have fun and take in the moment, both recently tweeting out pictures of their adventure, expressing their excitement about the coming weeks. Don’t think for a second, however, that these competitors aren’t fully prepared for what lies ahead, and fully focused on their goals. Both young men were trained by Glenville’s Jason Morris, who took home a Silver medal in the games 20 years ago.

Make sure you don’t miss any of the local stars in action; Delpopolo will face off on July 30th and Vashkulat on August 2nd.
