Two local veterans made the CBS 6 local news last month for their part in the Albany Adaptive Sports Program.

Marine Corps Veteran William Ward and Army Veteran Kyle Dalton joined CBS 6's Heather Kovar back in December to talk about how the Adaptive Sports Program has allowed them to take part in sports that might be inaccessible to them otherwise.

According to Kovar, Ward is in a wheelchair and Dalton is legally blind and both have been able to take part in sports that have helped them be able to enjoy physical activity while also contributing to their therapeutic regimen. Ward has taken part in weight lifting competitions and Dalton got into snowboarding as a result of his time in the Albany Adaptive Sports Program.

The Albany Adaptive Sports Program is run through the Albany Stratton VAMC. It was fascinating to learn about the program and these veterans' experiences in the interview. I recommend you take a few minutes and watch.
