The Major League Baseball Draft wasn't over for the Capital Region after the selection of Niskayuna graduate Garrett Whitley on Monday night.

Two more Capital Region products were taken on the draft's third day: LHP Trevor Lacosse of CBA and Bryant University as well as Greenwich senior John Stewart.

Lacosse went in the 23rd round to the Marlins while Stewart was taken in the 40th round by the Braves.

Lacosse went 2-3 with one save in 2015, posting a 4.33 ERA in 62.1 innings. He appeared in 15 games and struck out 7.65/game.

Stewart, the high school senior, was recently named to the Wasaren League's first team. He's the son of Braves scout John Stewart Sr. He's committed to Marshall University.

This marks the second consecutive year that multiple area players were taken in the draft. Last year Jeff Hoffman (Shaker/East Carolina), Branden Cogswell (Shen/Virginia), Brian O'Keefe (Colonie/St. Joseph's), Matt Gage (Broadalbin-Perth/Siena), and JP Sportman (La Salle/Central Connecticut) were all selected.
