The UAlbany baseball team will open up the America East Tournament against top-seeded Stony Brook in the first round of the double elimination tournament on Wednesday at 3:00pm.

The Great Danes are the 4th seed for the league's tourney.

The game is a rematch of last year's title game.  The Seawolves beat the Great Danes in the 2010 title tilt, 4-2.

Defending America East tournament champion Stony Brook (41-10, AE 22-2) earned the right to host the tournament by winning the America East Regular Season Championship, dropping just two games of the 24-game conference slate. Maine (29-22, AE 18-6) enters the championship as the two seed for the second straight year, while Binghamton (21-26, AE 13-10) will be the third seed. The Black Bears and Bearcats will meet in the tournament's first game on Wednesday at noon.

The America East Baseball Championship is a four-team, double-elimination tournament. The winner will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. All four tournament participants have won at least one America East Championship. Maine, who has the most of the group with four titles, has also had the longest drought with its last championship coming in 2006. Stony Brook has three conference trophies (2004, '08, '10), while Binghamton (2009) and UAlbany (2007) have one apiece.
