Earlier this week in anticipation of the first practice of the year, the UAlbany men's basketball team named its three captains in seniors Peter Hooley, Ray Sanders and Reece Williams.

Williams is a great story as the walk-on doesn't see much playing time. However, being named captain shows that his teammates and coaching staff trust him and believe in him as a leader, and that's a great compliment.

Williams joined us today to talk about the honor, going to three straight NCAA tournaments and to shed some light on UAlbany heading into 2015-16.

He told us just how good point guard Evan Singletary is, after all he is the guy who has to guard him in practice. Furthermore, he talked to us a little bit about the work ethic of Scotia native Joe Cremo, who will play for UA this season.

Finally, we asked Williams about opening up the season at Rupp Arena against Kentucky. Williams says he's excited and that he thinks UAlbany has as good a shot as any team in the country to upset the Wildcats.
