Gerardo Suero named 1st team America East selection poured in 21 points as the Great Danes busted open a 9 point half time lead to drub New Hampshire 63-45 in round 2 of the America East Conference Tournament and advance to a semi final match against top seed Stony Brook later Sunday afternoon.

Mike Black who grabbed 2nd team honors had 11 points and ran the point efficiently. The money shot was the big difference in this ballgame. Albany shot 42% from the 3 point line and UNH which struggled on offense all afternoon managed to shoot just 26% from deep and 28% total for the game.

Just for good measure Suero also led the club with 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Blake Metcalf also had 9 glass cleaners but it was Suero who missed some time with injury late in the year that dominated this game.

Stony Brook will present a much tougher opponent finishing 21-8 overall and 14-2 in the conference. SB swept the 2 games from Albany this season, winning 81-68 at home and beating Albany 76-69 in the rematch in the Capital region.

The other semi final will feature  2nd seed Vermont which beat a stubborn Maine club 50-40. The Catamounts will take on the highest seed left, Hartford which won only 9 games aginst 21 losses this season.
