The University at Albany men's soccer team made history. Again. One year removed from winning the America East regular season title for the first time in program history, The Great Danes knocked off Vermont 2-0 in the conference tournament semifinals and advance to the championship game for the first time ever. Whats more is that after top seeded Stony Brook was upset by Hartford, the Danes will host the title game on Sunday at 2:00pm at Casey Stadium. Albany is getting hot at the right time and has now outscored opponents 10-3 in their last three matches and 25-7 in their last 11.

The first goal scored in the semifinal against the Catamounts was from the all conference junior Alphonso Pinheiro in the 29th minute, and the put away goal came in the 66th minute from sophomore midfielder Carlos Clark.

UAlbany will try to reach their first ever NCAA tournament Sunday against Hartford, a team they tied 0-0 in 2OT back on October 1st.
