The University at Albany men's lacrosse team is preparing to defend its America East crown in 2015, but before the Danes hit the field in competition, they are hitting the trails for a good cause.
This comes per a press release from UAlbany.
ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team is calling for people to support team JP, running for JP Honsinger, in the upcoming Superhero Sprint 5K on campus.
The Superhero Sprint 5K will be run on Saturday, November 8th on the UAlbany campus, held by the Department of Residential Life with proceeds to benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation.  Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the walk/run beginning at 10 a.m.  Those participating are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costumes.
Team JP will run in support of JP Honsinger, an 11-year-old who is suffering from Niemann-Pick Type C Disease, a form of childhood Alzheimer’s.  JP has spent time at practice and at games with the UAlbany men’s lacrosse team.
Registration is just $10 for UAlbany students and staff.
