The UAlbany Great Danes closed out non-conference play on Saturday afternoon by beating the Cornell Big Red on the road in Ithaca.

The Danes' 75-70 win moved the team to 11-4 thus far while Cornell is now 6-7.

UAlbany had four players in double-figures including Ray Sanders (18), Joe Cremo (15), Peter Hooley (13) and Greig Stire (11).

What's even more impressive is that the Danes won the game without getting offensive production from Evan Singletary. He had just two points on 1-7 shooting.

UAlbany shot well from the charity stripe (90 percent) and from the three-point arc (44 percent) in the win. They also out-rebounded the Big Red, 45-28.

Conference play starts on Wednesday for the Danes as they host the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers. Joel Wincowski of Lake George, and also the all-time Section II scoring leader, will return to the Capital Region that night.

UAlbany is looking for its fourth straight America East title and its fourth straight trip to the NCAA tournament.
