UAlbany head basketball coach Will Brown has done a number of good things in the Albany community in his 12 year tenure as the head coach of the Great Danes, including work with a number of charitable organizations. He has extended that charitable spirit to this weekend's America East basketball tournament, as he has purchased 400 student tickets to Saturday's quarterfinal game against Maine.

Brown, who is the longest tenured coach in the America East, bought up the tickets along with wife Jamie and UAlbany alum Michael J. Castellana, looking to fill the student sections, known as the DANEger Zones, with Great Danes fans.

On Twitter, Coach Brown indicated that he was giving out the tickets personally at his office on the third floor of the school's Physical Education building.

This is another nice move from a guy who seems to be a nice person in general. Of course, with a salary of up around $250,000 per year, the 400 tickets at $5 apiece couldn't have made a huge dent in his wallet, but it is still an awesome gesture and hopefully one that puts more UAlbany students in the seats come Saturday night.

The Great Danes take on Maine in the America East quarterfinals at 8 p.m. at SEFCU Arena on the campus of the University at Albany.
