UAlbany Wins Regular Season Title

After defeating Binghamton on Saturday, the UAlbany men’s lacrosse team locked up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming America East tournament.

The 21-7 win pushed the Danes to 9-5 overall and 5-0 in league play. It is UA’s second consecutive unbeaten season in the America East and second straight regular season league title.

The Thompson Trio was at it again, as Lyle had 10 goals and Ty and Miles each had three.

For head coach Scott Marr, the season is another in a long line of successes. Marr has been named America East Coach of the Year three times and has taken the Danes to the NCAA tournament five times.

Hopefully 2014 results in a sixth trip to the Dance for UAlbany.

The America East tournament starts on Thursday at Stony Brook. The Danes will play the Seawolves at 7:30 p.m.
