You look at the box score and it makes you wonder how the Great danes only beat St. Francis of N.Y. 77-73 on Wednesday night.

St. Francis, out of the Northeast conference came into the ballgame 2-3 with Albany at 6-2. The Danes out rebounded the Terriers 34-23, outshot them from both inside and outside the three point line, yet won by only four points. UAlbany shot 52.3% from the field, including 64.7% from three point range. The key was the Terriers got up 92 shots compared to 61 for the Danes. Will Brown's club did turn the ball over 17 times compared to eight for St. Francis.

Jacob Iati and Mike Black were terrors from deep. Black hit four of five from down town. Iati hit four of seven from the mark. Black finished with 21 overall, Iati had 20. They were the only Danes to finish in double figures. On the glass, center Blake Metcalf hauled in 13 rebounds.

Albany now 7-2 on the young season heads off to play Colgate on Saturday and do so in first place in the America East, a half game over second place Stony Brook.
