The UAlbany women's basketball team stormed past Binghamton on a rare matinee game at SEFCU Arena on Wednesday.

Shereesha Richards had 35 points in the 75-53 win, which was played at noon, as part of Commitment to Education Day.

Schools from all over the Capital Region came to the game and played games and enjoyed several stations before tip-off. Nearly 2,000 people filled the arena.

UAlbany is now 11-1 in America East play, remaining ahead of second-place Maine, which is 10-1.

The Danes dominated the Bearcats on the glass, out-rebounding the opponents 44-23. UAlbany also held Binghamton to 38 percent shooting for the game, including just 24 percent in a 15-point first half.

Tiana-Jo Carter had 12 points for UAlbany while Imani Tate had 12 rebounds.

UAlbany will play next on Feb. 17th against UMBC at SEFCU Arena.
