The UAlbany women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the America East season on Sunday afternoon, falling to Maine, 52-44, at SEFCU Arena.

The loss puts the Danes at 15-7 and 8-1 in league play. It's the first loss for the university in basketball in America East play this year -- the men are 9-0 in the league.

The two teams really struggled to score early. The score was just 16-16 at halftime, and both teams shot under 30 percent for the first half.

The Danes finished the game at exactly 30 percent. They got 15 points from Shereesha Richards, 10 from Sarah Royals, and 10 from Imani Tate.

UAlbany plays at New Hampshire on Wednesday.
