UAlbany Women’s Soccer, FH Take America East Titles

UAlbany has been to three straight America East tournament's in men's basketball. Four in women's basketball. Two in men's lacrosse.

But the Danes added a few more sports to their tournament resumes on Sunday afternoon, claiming America East titles in field hockey and women's soccer.

It's the second consecutive conference title for the Danes in field hockey. The Danes advanced to the Final Four a season ago.

No. 8 UAlbany defeated No. 19 Maine in the America East Championship this year to advance back to the tournament.

UAlbany will meet Boston College on Saturday at UConn.

While the field hockey team has been there before, it was the first-ever America East championship for the women's soccer team, who beat Hartford on Sunday.

The Danes won that game, 2-1, scoring two goals in the final nine minutes.

UAlbany will learn its NCAA opponent on Monday afternoon. The tournament selection show is at 4:30 p.m.

UAlbany is 11-8-1 on the season.
