The most popular active fighter in the UFC will headline the historic mixed martial arts bout in New York State on November 12th. Conor McGregor will battle against Eddie Alvarez inside the octagon in the main event at Madison Square Garden. The mixed martial arts event will be the first legal event held in New York State since UFC 7 in Buffalo in 1995. McGregor will try and become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two championships in two different weight classes at the same time. The 32 year old Alvarez is the current lightweight champion after defeating Rafael dos Anjos in July. Tickets for the fight do not go on sale until this Friday but experts have predicted prices to range anywhere from $100-$1250 a ticket. The bout between McGregor and Alvarez joins two other fights on the UFC 205 card involving championships being defended. Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will defend his championship against Stephen Thompson. Women's straweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her title against fellow Polish fighter Karolina Kowalkiewicz. UFC 205 tickets go on sale Friday at 10am and the entire card will be available to watch on pay per view.
