After an ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal series win over Rensselaer, Union men’s ice hockey moved up to No. 6 in both national polls released Monday. The No. 6 ranking is the highest that the Dutchmen have earned this season.

Union has appeared in the USCHO.com poll for 61 consecutive weeks since the Dec. 7, 2009 rankings, extending a school record. Union has been ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll in 20 out of a possible 22 weeks this season.

No. 7/8 Union men's hockey (22-7-7), the No. 1 seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, will take on No. 4 seed Colgate (19-15-3), in a semifinal game at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. on Friday at 4:30 p.m..

Union returns to the semifinals for the second time in the past three seasons, and the first time since 2009-10, when the Dutchmen reached the ECAC Hockey championship game for the first time in program history. The Dutchmen earned a 2-0 series win over Rensselaer with a 4-2 win on Saturday night at Messa Rink.
