After an idle weekend, the Union College men's ice hockey team remained in the top 10 of both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and USCHO.com polls released this afternoon. Union fell one spot to No. 8 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and remained at No. 8 in the USCHO.com Poll. Union received a first place vote in each poll for the second consecutive week.

Union received 635 points and one of 50 first place votes in the USCHO.com poll and earned 260 points and one of 33 first place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

Union has appeared in the USCHO.com poll for 67 consecutive weeks since the Dec. 7, 2009 rankings, extending a school record. Union has been ranked in the Top 10 of the USCHO.com poll for 11 consecutive weeks since the Feb. 13, 2012 edition of the poll last season. The Dutchmen have been in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll for 17 consecutive weeks, and in the top 10 of the poll for 11 straight weeks, also dating back to last season.

After an off weekend, No. 8 Union will be back in action on Oct. 26 when they take on American International College in a road contest beginning at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday night, the Dutchmen will travel to Connecticut for an 8:05 p.m. contest.

Union is 41-6-7 against Atlantic Hockey opponents in the Division I era and 14-0-3 in its last 17 games against Atlantic Hockey competition, dating back to 2009-10.
