Venus Victorious After Over 3 Hour Match

Venus Williams defeats Japans Kimiko Date Krumm in 3 sets to move onto the next round at Wimbledon.

What a match played by both Venus Williams and the 40 year old Kimiko Date Krumm.  Over 3 hours at Wimbledon and when Venus won the last set the crowd came to it's feet.  Venus defeats her Japanese opponent in 2 of 3 sets 7-6, 3-6,6-8.

This is a good win for Venus who had missed 5 months due to a hip injury.  Obviously she is well recovered from that.  She'll now move on to the third round of Wimbledon.

As far as her opponent, Kimiko Date Krumm is the second oldest woman to go to the second round at Wimbledon.  She played very well against the much younger Williams.
