The salsa dancing will continue for six more years.  Victor Cruz is staying with the New York Giants.

Cruz, who recently signed his tender offer of nearly $3 million, signed for an additional five years worth around $43 million.  So in total, that's roughly $46 million over six years with the Giants.

This works for both sides.  It works for the Giants because Cruz is just 26 and has been super productive for the G-Men, scoring 19 touchdowns the last two years and accumulating over 2,600 yards.  He stretches the field and is an important receiver in a pass-happy league for quarterback Eli Manning.

It works for Cruz because he gets paid and stays with a franchise he is familiar with.

This isn't a contract for a mega star player in  the NFL.  Cruz is a budding star.  And that is why it works as well.  And that is why the Giants are the Giants.  They make the right moves at the right time, both short term and long term.  And signing Cruz for this amount of money for six years at his age was a smart move.
