Michigan State CB Trae Waynes was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings at No.11. Waynes, is seen as the most dominant secondary player in the draft, and is compared to the likes of Richard Sherman.

Waynes is one of the drafts top cornerbacks, and a top-notch athlete. Waynes ran a 4.3 40, the fastest among cornerbacks. He bench pressed 17 times, also among the position’s best. Waynes was First-Team All-Big Ten, and a finalist for the Thorpe award (best cornerback).

Waynes excels in man-to-man coverage, and can succeed when left alone on an island. However, Waynes is very handsy. He gets penalized often for using his hands illegally, which will need to change at the next level.

Waynes’ best friend is another potential first-round pick, Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon.

The 2015 NFL Draft this year was held in Chicago, Illinois. It's the first time that the event was not at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The new environment brought the majority of the first round draft picks, but not the top two, Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston.
