JM Jewelers’ is a family owned and operated jewelry store. It’s owner, Sheryll Graubart-Hoffman is a graduate gemologist and 4th generation jeweler with over 30 years experience in the jewelry business.
Sheryll began her jewelry experience in 1983 when she began working with her father, Hershel Graubart in his family jewelry store of Graubart Jewelers which was located in downtown Schenectady. Hershel Graubart is a 3rd generation jeweler and gemologist. Today, Hershel visits his daughter’s own jewelry store of JM Jewelers, assisting customers and as a consultant.
JM Jewelers was originally founded in 1960 by John Mercoglan. In 1980, John’s son Kevin took over the business. In 2003, Kevin hired Sheryll Graubart-Hoffman, formally of Graubart Jewelers, to manage JM Jewelers. Sheryll has over 25 years of experience and is a Graduate Gemologist from The Gemological Institue of America. Sheryll is a 4th generation jeweler. Previously, Sheryll’s father owned Graubart Jewelers in downtown Schenectady and was a landmark for over 100 years with the same family owning the business. Sheryll’s father, Hershel Graubart decided it was time to retire and closed his doors in 2002. In 2007, Sheryll purchased JM Jewelers.
