Branden Cogswell helped keep the University of Virginia’s national championship hopes alive Tuesday night, going 2-4 in a 6-2 win over Vanderbilt at the College World Series.

The Cavaliers win evens up the championship series at 1-1. The deciding Game 3 is tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

Cogswell also added an RBI with a squeeze bunt. He is hitting .500 (9-18) in Omaha and is up to .307 for the season.

The first-team all-ACC second baseman was a seventh-round pick of the Oakland A’s in this month’s draft.
