Reports are coming in that say that the catcher for the Washington Nationals, Wilson Ramos, has been kidnapped in his home country of Venezuela.

Late last night ESPN got word that Washington Nationals Catcher Wilson Ramos was kidnapped by several armed men while at home with his family in Venezuela.  So far there has been no word from Ramos or the abductors as police continue the investigation.

Ramos just finished his rookie season with the Nationals and was at home visiting with his father and brothers, according to a source close to the family.  They report that armed men entered his home and took Ramos away in an SUV in Santa Ines.  Ramos' agent gave no comment on the situation.  This isn't the first time that a high profile athlete has been kidnapped in South America.  According to ESPN the families of wealthy athletes are in danger quite often.
